“Service is the easiest and most important part of business to get right – and the most detrimental part to get wrong.”
– JASON SMITH, PRESIDENT
It’s that simple. Dogwood understands the need for exceptional service that goes beyond quality work. We instill amazing customer service into everything we do, from your first call to your 2,000th facility service appointment. In many ways, we’re a customer service business that happens to be in the commercial contracting sector. And that customer-focused mindset starts with our people. Our team is the secret to our success. We are driven by a relentless commitment to innovation, a tireless work ethic, creativity, exceptional quality, and social responsibility. Above all, we value your trust. Here we are, it’s great to meet you.
Since founding Dogwood in 2007, Jason has been a visionary, mentor, strategist, innovator and relentlessly positive leader for our rapidly growing company. From his early start as the manager of a metal fabrication shop, to a successful career with a large roofing company, Jason’s capacity for leadership and operations management has resulted in rapid growth and sustainable development at each position he’s held. Jason is the calm and steady force behind the scenes at Dogwood. He has expanded the business from its humble beginning in his home office, to an unmatched nation-wide leader in the industry. Despite his busy schedule, Jason finds time to hike, mountain bike, snowboard and travel with his family. The fact that he is the kind of leader who prefers poker to golf is a great example of his unique style and approach to life.

John Di Fruscia
John grew up on a farm in St-Bernard, Quebec where he learned from an early age how to construct and repair buildings and machinery. His professional career began in the utilities sector in Quebec. Looking for a change and new challenges, he relocated to Santa Barbara and Los Angeles, California and launched his own company designing and manufacturing high-end luxury homes and hotels. After eight successful years, John moved to Oregon with his family and continued building high-end homes there. Never one to be satisfied with average, John decided it was time to move again and headed to Victoria, British Columbia. Shortly after settling back in Canada, he joined Dogwood as the Vancouver Island Branch Manager. The ocean suites him well, and when he’s not busy growing our market share on the Island, he enjoys spending time with his children and working on his boat.
Growing up in Mississauga, Ontario, Mark spent his childhood helping his Dad and Grandfather build things: from a shed, to a garage, to renovating their basement. These formative years instilled him with a passion for building, and after finishing High School, he stated work in the commercial & residential construction sector. Seeking a change after several years, Mark transitioned into the custom metal industry. He would spend the next 23 years with the same organization learning how to fabricate, weld and create, and eventually moving to management. When the company closed their doors, Mark decided to start his own renovation business, which he would run successfully for over 6 years. This new-found love of renovations led him to Dogwood, where his innovative skill, professionalism and experience have seen him rise from Technician to Superintendent, and then to Branch Manager of the Toronto region. Aside from building, Mark is passionate about hiking and being outdoors. There is so much to explore!
